Does going on the pill really help treat acne? please help!?

if so how long does it take to have a noticable difference?Does going on the pill really help treat acne? please help!?
Really, no. Severe acne should be treated by a dermatologist. Regular pimples are a fact of life and good eating habits are a much better way of helping your complexion.Does going on the pill really help treat acne? please help!?
Yes the pill can help some with acne how ever it is a tough thing to get a doctor to give birth control hormones for acne. because there are so many different types and which one will actually help the acne is a question. You may try 3 or 4 before you find one that helps or you may get lucky on the first try.

If you tell the Doctor that you need the pill for prevention you will have no problem getting it but there is still no way to tell if it is right for you until you try it for a while.

In my opinion, ';If this is a real problem,'; ask the doctor for the Antibiotic treatment for acne insted.

It's a lot better and safer.
Yes, but you'll have to take the Diane pill, this is specially produced to fight acne. And pregnancy, of course.
If you are a girl - yes.

Your acne is probably hormonal and taking the pill can redress imbalances that are causing your acne. You should notice the difference within a couple of months or less.

See your doctor so that you can be properly monitored for side effects.
thats a good one, about as good as ';im on the pill so my periods are regular';. just admit it to everyone, you just want to get your freak on.
';the pill '; does not help against akne, it is for other things!
It can. You should talk to your doctor about it, though, because you may be at risk of other complications if you take oral contraceptives.
to treat acne i would suggest u take the advice from any dermatologist. because it might become a big problem if u take pills without doctor prescription..
No it does not.Even if it does it may take very long.Though there are various reasons why acne actually exists, one thing that you could do is drink lots of water. It'll help flush toxins out of your body.

Another thing that you could do is keep your skin dry if it is oily.
go to the dermatologist u will get correct answer there
I've heard the opposite, actually. Meanwhile, what I do know is that your diet (what you eat per day) can drastically affect your skin, hair, nails etc. There are even vitamin supplements that specify this. [Take a look next time yr at the Chemist, or Department Store] And what you eat is BIG TIME on how your skin is (health of) so, get a couple of good books from yr local library, and sit down and look up what foods do what (and what are good for you!)

All the best! (SUGAR = DEADLY ENEMY= BAD SKIN PIMPLES ACNE)

[that was a subtle hint!]
yes it does help it takes about a month or so but if you want something to work use skin free that is a very good product.have a nice day hope it helps.
ive went on the pill for acne and it hasnt helped me if anything its worse
No it can actually make things worse. Also you can gain weight!
no it doesnt. Hormouns work in different ways for differnet people.. PLAIN AND SIMPLE
I was on a pill called Dianette, which helped my acne a lot! I was 11yrs old when I first got acne because I grew really quickly! I was prescribed Diannette when I was 15/16yrs old and it helped alot! I'm now 21 and have changed to a different pill because Diannette is so strong that 5 years is the most you can be on it because it increases the chances of breast cancer, etc. Since changing the pill I went through a small period where my acne reappeared but now I am ok. Luckily I have never had bad acne. I reccommend the pill to help with this but there are also a lot of side effects, so check it out first. Diannette is also the best pill available for treating acne. I hope this helps!
yes, it does. I know females that are virgins but they're on the pill for the sole purpose that it's good for their skin. however, it may be embarrassing to get on the pill because you may feel like everyone just thinks your sexually active and not looking out for your skin. if that's the case, go see a dermatologist (skin doctor) and he/she will hook you up.

Good Luck!
