Message: mukunda thank you so much, im officially acne and pimple free after 2 1/2 weeks. if it wasnt for your advice i dont know what i would have done...one thing i noticed that helped me with mine was vigorously rubbing olive oil in my skin....

TREATMENT

I've had incredible results simply massaging with essential oils. Oils such as olive, sweet almond, grape seed and lavender (it needs diluting as too strong used neat) are good and have been used by skin specialists to successfully treat and cure acne. They do not clog, cause breakouts and surprisingly, lessen skin's over production of oils. Rid me of acne and removed all blemishes and scars and gave me a smooth, totally clear, healthy and radiant skin.

Vigorously massage into skin (that is key to it working). In just two days you will start seeing results. Skin will start clearing and will tighten, look and feel smoother and firmer.

Oils are perfect moisturizers Many moisturizing products are skin harming and worsen or cause acne. Do not remove. Simply splash face with water and dab dry with tissues.

Many have benefited on Answers from treatment. Do not leave face oily looking.

It's`a moisturizer. You do not remove. Simply splash face with water and remove surface excess with tissues Report Abuse

Keep on a Diet plan With No-Fat And Low-protien. stay away from cosmetics and day or night creams. dont apply anything on face but a good sunblock. Wash your face 2 or 3 times a day with an oil control soap as it will decrease the production of sebum and will stop the acne.
If you have an oily skin wash your face twice a day in warm salty water. This should leave your face oil free without aggravating the pimples like soap. The secret of keeping the skin clear is to keep it oil-free and clean. If you have a dry skin honey is a great remedy for acne and pimples because the honey kills bacteria. If you have a combination skin when you wash your face, use sugar to scrub it, at least once a day, for two weeks to rid yourself of acne.Check out http://usefulinfo-acne.blogspot.com/ for more useful info.
One thing that you can do is boil a pot of water. Once it is boiling and steam is coming up, put your face over the pot. The steam will help clear the acne up.

Just make sure you don't actually put your face in the water!

It works for me. I'm not sure if it will work for you too, because it depends on your skin type. But its worth a shot.

Good luck!
Cleanse your face with milk by using cotton balls and soaking them in milk and then wiping your face until all the dirt and stuff is off your face, I also make this face mask out of sandal wood powder ( i bought it at an indian food store) and mix it with lemon or lime (natural antibacterial), and a little honey, and a little bit of milk or yogurt and some turmeric
I don't know any home remedies, but I do know the acne medicine ';Epiduo'; is amazing. Takes about 2 months, but it will SURELY take away your acne.
toothpaste.

How effective is aspirin or ibuprofen in treating acne?

Are NSAID drugs like aspirin and ibuprofen of any use in relieving the inflammation, redness and swelling associated with acne? How effective is aspirin or ibuprofen in treating acne?
NSAIDs will reduce the inflammation associated with acne systemically and to a certain extent. They are typically not recommended for treatment because you get more of a ';whole body'; effect-they will act on organ systems as well as just your acne. However, salicylic acid (aspirin) topical preparations are very good for inflammation as well as relief from acne itslefHow effective is aspirin or ibuprofen in treating acne?
never heard that they have any effect.
none at all`mate`
They aren't effective at treating ACNE. However it's important to note it does help relieve the inflammation. NSAID's (Non-Sterodial Anti-Inflammatory Drug) are used to reduce swelling as well as aid in the pain.

';What causes acne?

Acne is caused by the over activity of the sebaceous glands that secrete oily substances onto the skin. The sebaceous glands of people with acne are especially sensitive to normal blood levels of a hormone called testosterone, found naturally in both men and women. Testosterone in people prone to acne triggers the sebaceous glands to produce an excess of sebum. At the same time, the dead skin cells lining the openings of the hair follicles (the tubes that hold the hair) are not shed properly and clog up the follicles. These two effects combined cause a build-up of oil in the hair follicles. This causes blackheads and whiteheads to form. For some people, their acne does not progress beyond this stage. However in other people, the build-up of oil in the hair follicles creates an ideal environment for a bacterium called Propionibacterium acnes to grow. These bacteria normally live harmlessly on your skin but when this ideal environment is created, they grow. They feed off the sebum and produce substances that cause a response from your body's immune system. This inflames the skin and creates the redness associated with spots.';

Treatment:

You can start with Home Treatment - using benzyl peroxide (*ie Oxy, Clearasil)

If that doesn't work you have severe acne and should try

Prescription medicines, Topical treatments (azelaic acid, etc) , or Oral treatments (antibiotics ie tetracycline) These are prescribed by a doctor.
The answer is no and no.Taking Zinc supplements helps along with your usual Acne treatments. If you are not getting satisfactory results see your Doctor you might need something much more effective.

Will a botox treatment treat ACNE ?

What did YOU find to be the perfect defence against ACNE ?Will a botox treatment treat ACNE ?
well, i've had acne for about three years now and what i found that works best is rubbing alcohol and toothpaste.

first you take a q-tip and dip it in rubbing alcohol and put it on the affected areas (it might sting but no pain no gain, right?) keep it on for about 10-15 minutes. after take toothpaste and dab it on the acne. leave it on for about 10-15 minutes then wash it off with a warm soft towel and viola! clear skin the next day. Will a botox treatment treat ACNE ?

How can I treat my cystic acne?

the best thing to do is go to a dermatologist because they can prescribe you ointment to put on the acne. If you can't do that i would go to a drugstore and pick up a good facial scrub, clearasil ultra facial scrub is really good, facial wipes, and any kind of rapid action acne cream. Use those everyday twice a day, and use the wipes more if you need to, to keep your face clean. Keep your hair out of your face and don't touch it, to make sure your not get more oil on it. just make sure to stay consistant with keeping your fac clean and it should start to clear up, but it will take some time because it is a severe form of acne. How can I treat my cystic acne?

I use retinA .1% cream, and my scars/marks have faded dramatically. I don't even need makeup anymore.. It just takes a while to work, but trust me this stuff does work..
well my advice to you is Don鈥檛 start any treatment for scarring until your acne is completely gone and unlikely to come back.

Skin resurfacing techniques (like dermabrasion), surgical excision, and fillers have been used to diminish acne scarring for years with mixed results. Currently, laser therapy has assumed a more important role in the treatment of acne scars, and other newer surgical methods featuring light and radio waves are an option to treat your acne.

you can find more usefful information and tips about acne here http://acnedestroyer.blogspot.com/
i use benza clin %26amp; some of my scars are gone
Retin A Rx is an exfoliater, C n C is benzoyl peroxide, not really for scar. if you have more scarring not getting better as you get older, can do obaji system/and peel , or fraxel laser. only w board certifed dermatologist/cosmetic MD. scars tend to fade/change over time. I had worse scarring as a teenager, not so much in my twenties, but also stay out of sun, don't smoke, worsens skin tone. don't use liquid makeups, grow lots of bacteria. can also do oral antibiotics or topical antibiotics. accutane/last resort, if at all.

    Can you treat pregnancy acne?

Can you use benzoyl peroxide or salycilic acid? Can you treat pregnancy acne?
I would not have a clue never had acne when i was pregnant. but i do no it is bad to apply cold sore cream.. DON'T no the answer to that on either just heard any way be careful what you do apply to your face .. seek medical advice i think..Can you treat pregnancy acne?
neither of those are safe for the baby. Just wash your face with soap and water then use a moisturizer so you don't dry out your face. But having acne when your pregnant seems uncommon. Usually your sick is suippose to be glowy. Not oily.
ask your doctor. different people react differntly to treatments. DO NOT try to cure it yourself!
I don't know about the things you mentioned, but laying off sugar and chocolate and eating plenty of raw vegies helped me
    Pregnancy Acne Treatment

Outbreaks of pregnancy acne are common for many women because of all the changes taking place inside their bodies, particularly in terms of hormone levels. When hormone levels are fluctuating skin oil production can go into overdrive, causing pores to become blocked and infected. Acne then develops usually around the mouth, shoulders, chest or back.

Using drugs to treat pregnancy acne is a serious concern for most women. Consuming oral drugs can cause side effects and can be potentially dangerous for unborn babies. Nobody wants to risk the health of their child for the sake of eliminating acne. The logical course of action is to use a topical treatment. Preferably one that does not contain any harsh chemicals, because they can be absorbed through the skin and into the bloodstream.

Is antibacterial soap good for treating acne?

Hi, I am a 13 year old boy and have loads of pimples, especially on my forhead area. Can you answer this? And any other comments or tips on curing acne is most welcome. thnks. Is antibacterial soap good for treating acne?
NEVER USE ANTIBACTERIAL SOAP ON YOUR FACE!!! it is a problem waiting to happen. It's too harsh. It will burn. Scar, and cause more acne!

Unfortunately acne is non cure able. But treatable and that's a plus! I work in skin care, so I know a few products. You can try Patricia Wexler's acne anti script. Don't be scared. It says ';anti-aging'; and acne/ Although I don't know your age, using a ';anti-aging/acne kit'; is not bad on your skin. You are never too young to start. Plus Patricia Wexler's anti-aging/acne kit is good for sun spots, scar's and marks left by old acne too. The Patricia Wexler kit is about $40.00 and it's a month supply. You can buy it at any Bath and Body Works Location. Patricia is a dermatologist based in NYC, and is named one of the three best dermatologist in the WORLD. If you are not sure about the Wexler I'd recommend ';C.O Bigelow'; face care. It is also sold at Bath and Body Works. They have a wide range of face care in the C.O Bigelow line. For Dry skin, Oily, Normal, and Combo skin. But since you say you have acne, try the products for Oily skin. Bath and Body Works has a 100% guarantee on all products, so if it doesn't help return for your money back. I do not recomment Pro active, because if it may burn your skin, or dry it out. It maybe to harsh for your skin. Please take note whenever you try a new face care regimen you may be prone to more break-outs, and that is because your skin is getting use to the new items. So I recommend you try it for 30 days.Is antibacterial soap good for treating acne?

It will not help. Try getting some acne cream.
I use dial anti bacterial soap and it really helps with pimples. However, I also used a gel and have chemical peels once a month. I would recommend going to a dermatologist first. Hope that helps!!!!!!!
no i don't think it would

because i know when you shave, soap dries out your legs which isn't good

and if soap dries out legs, then it'll dry up skin too

and dry skin will only cause your body to make MORE oil which makes it MORE oilier

    to cure acne

    go to your doctor

ask for an antibiotic acne medicine

i am thirteen too and i used to have HORRIBLE acne problem it was so gross

but then i got benzaclin and it helps SO much (Except it dries out skin so i hafta put oil free lotion)

    if you can't

then you could buy acne products like acne free (almost exactly like proactive) and well

    each person is different

so try with different acne products

but inorder for it to work

you have to wash it exactly when it tells you do

skip one day of washing or even one night of washing, it won't be as effective

    oh

    and

keep hands away from your face

i know i used to have that problem, school can get pretty boring so i have the habit of resting my hand on my cheeks cauzing it to be oilier from the oils in my fingers

and all the dirty stuff clogs up my poors

    not good %26gt;%26lt;

lets see... oh and clean pillows and hair will help cleaner cheeks too because oily hair is rested on pillows wich causes it to be oily and during your sleep your cheeks may slide onto the places where its oily

    NOT GOOD

    and forhead area?

    do u have bangs?

because if you do its probably better to clip your bangs away so its not as oily
hmmm.. antibacterial soap doesnt really help a lot it may also infect your acne dude! you know the cause of acne is eating a lot of oily stuff, working lately and causing you a lot of stress.., and ofcourse chocolates! my advice is you better avoid eating oily foods, avoid being stress, drink a lot of water at least 7 glasses a day, go out when the sun is low because the sun has vitamin E and it may help cure your acne, use soap that has Vitamin E dont use soap that contains acids it will get worse, wash your face with a towel, soak the towel in warm water then wipe your face gently.. do it daily taht may help dude good luck! ^_^
try proactive its the best its 99.999... % gauranteed to work its thr best i got red of all my acne in a few weeks www.proactive.com look at the before and after pics there shocking and the stories
Anti-bacterial soap is definitely good to prevent acne since it's the bacteria responsible for clogging your pores which leads to acne. Eat a balanced diet, cut on fried food and load up on fruits and water! It could also be a hormonal problem which you can verify by visiting a dermatologist. He or she can also give you prescription solutions for your acne and suggest a suitable skin care regimen for you. Best of luck!
It is important to use skin friendly products and not pinch the pustules so that there are no scars formed. A good soap like Neutrogena or Cetaphil is recommended. Mild oil free skin creams should only be used after you have washed your face.More details visit http://www.wellnesstalk.org/acne.html

Do product that treats black heads treat acne too?

Yes, of course! Acne mean blackhead, whitehead and pimple. So a product that treats blackheads will also treats acne as the active ingredients used are the same.Do product that treats black heads treat acne too?
Yes, Acne is the term for plugged pores (blackheads, whiteheads and pimples).Do product that treats black heads treat acne too?
I use Proactive Solution and it really seems to work. It is a three step process two times a day and it seems to work. Before I used this I tried everything. I would get really bad pimples--the kind that start off as a red bump, then overnight turn into kind of a boil or blister and if you pop it...well it seems to spread. I'm not trying to be gross but it made me feel gross and unattractive. In about 2-3 weeks of using proactive I really noticed a difference. I started off using it 2 times daily then gradually went to once daily only if I'm not wearing make-up. It really isn't that expensive and since I've been using it no more big or little red pimples...check it out it is worth it.
there are some that do you just have to look for the right product. i use St. Ives Apricot Scrub for blemish and blackhead control.

    it works really well...

if you wash your face at least 2 times a day too, then it helps more then if you just wash it once...

    at least it helped me.

you should try the apricot scrub though....

    i think it would help.
Good Question! I Had horrible acne when i was younger! just by using a black head cleanser stopped new acne from coming and got rid of it 2!
    yes

    true
Yes, if theyre made to do so. Luckily this is one that is tried and true by yours truly. It's called Biore Pore Perfect. It clears and treats acne, blackheads %26amp; whiteheads from your pores.
Sometimes, if it's a face wash, then it should help your acne. But if you use the pore strips that rip your blackheads out, those will only inflame existing acne. However, many products that are made to treat blackheads include the same active ingredients as those that treat acne.

    What can help treat acne?

and is there a good cream or scrub?

something that will also prevent acne from coming up again. What can help treat acne?
drink lot of water.......keep stomach clean........What can help treat acne?
    proactive really works
hi im 34 ive had acne since I was 18, I have tried all sorts of things but the thing that works best for me is a contraceptive pill called dianette. You can take it if your male as well, its really effective, ask your doctor
Keep your hands off your face. Acne is caused by clogged pores. If you touch your face a lot, your pores will clog from the dirt on your hands (even if they look clean).

Don't scrub! Don't treat your face like you would your floor!. Clean it gently. The only exfoliant you need is a rough washcloth. That should be enough.

There was this woman that I met who was working in a dermatologist's office. She had the best skin I had ever seen. I asked her what she used on her face thinking it was some prescriptions. She said she washes with Cetaphil cleanser and a washcloth and uses Eucerin moisturizing cream. That's it. Both are available at local drugstores.

Also, drink lots of water. It sounds weird but it really works. Switch from soda and juice and within 30 days your skin will look a lot better.

Getting exercise will help too. It increases your circulation which also helps keep your skin clear.

And finally, if you are a teen, my daughter has gotten some really great results with this stuff called Nature's Cure. It's a supplement (vitamin) and cream. We tried a bunch of different things, including Proactiv, that did not work. This Nature's Cure really worked. In about a month, her skin was SO much better. It comes in different formulas for boys and girls. Check with Mom or Dad first as it is a supplement. You'll want to get their OK on it.

But the best thing you can do for acne really is keep your skin clean (gently), eat well, drink lots of water, exercise and keep your hands OFF your face.
umm they sell this stuff at like Cosco or samsclub called acne free
I too have suffered with acne and finally came to the conclusion that the answer to the acne is not found in ';products';. Acne is a problem that comes from within and in order to solve it, you must treat the origination of the problem. You must detoxify your body and balance your hormones. If you are female, use Natural Progesterone Oil (I use Progestelle brand) for the hormone issue. Additionally, do a 3 day apple-only diet and colon cleansing to remove toxins from the body. Do this monthly and your skin will glow. It worked for me and beleive me, nothing else has and I've tried it all, Proactive (useless and STINKS) Arbonne, Clearasil, the list goes on and so does the money I spent. This is the answer. Search it out for yourself on the internet.
Most doctors and dermatologists say that acne is not related to diet, but I can confidently tell you that there is indeed a link--and a strong one at that. Most peoples鈥?acne clears up when they follow the no-grain diet.

You may be wondering why doctors typically say diet does not influence acne. Well, doctors cannot sell you a healthy diet, and they are under strong influence by the drug companies to prescribe expensive and sometimes harmful topical acne creams and antibiotics. No one is going to get rich from recommending a healthy diet to heal acne, except maybe you when you start saving money that you were spending on acne medications.

Further, many dermatologists prescribe long-term antibiotic treatments for acne. This can be especially problematic since every time you take an antibiotic, you kill beneficial bacteria along with the problematic bacteria. This can lead to many secondary conditions, such as yeast overgrowth.

So, wash with a mild cleanser that won't clog pores (no soaps) and moisturize with an oil free moisturizer that won't clog pores either, and eliminate grains from your diet - this is key!
i know pro-active and clean and clears advantage helps treat acne really well! Good Luck! but remebr true beuty come from within
    proactive
    Sudocreme is good!!!
i like the nutrogena acne stress line, its new and works better then proactive and cheap and it works best if you let the suds sit for 15 seconds, there is a website

onelessstress.com, you can't google it you will have to type it in and it talks about the new nutrogena product
Proactive! It is the best thing ever! Whoever invented it is awesome! It cures any type of acne problem!!!!!!
I'm still looking for a good answer to that. Some people really do have great success using the ProActive system. I have'nt tried it personally; but I usually just go to my dermatologist. From the doc, I've used Benza-clin and now I'm using Differin. The Differin has really made a big difference in clearing my face overall....although I do still get the occassional pimple or two.

So if you find something for on-the-spot, over the night, treatment....I'd love to know. Good luck!
    biore scrub
    another mans jiz
acne has to breathe....one can even cover it up and make it go away with toothpaste.....tanning booth 4 times a month also.
I had really bad acne growing up and still do if I don't use the stuff I use. I'm 40 and have had it since I was 12. You would think I would out grow it, but nope.

I don't want to say a product name on the web because it would sound like I'm plugging it. Let's just say that Vanessa Williams is the spokesperson.

It is the only thing that has really worked for me. I've tried all the creams and soaps and stuff, even antibiotics. I am really sold on this stuff. I finally have some self confidence!
I've just recently started Proactiv and it seems to be working well so far.
Generally, benzoyl peroxide is one of the most effective acne treatments. It's not primarily a treatment for existing outbreaks, but rather works to reduce and prevent future outbreaks.

I'm told that it works by introducing oxygen into the microenvironment that acne vulgaris breeds in, thus mitigating the growth and propagation of the bacteria before it can produce a pimple. So it's preventative more than treatment for an existing zit.

What isn't so widely known is that the most effective dosage of BP is much lower than the ';max strength'; 10% dose - the most effective daily dose is closer to 2.5% to 3% as this is more than effective enough to deal with the bacteria, and any more than that simply dries the skin out.

Killing existing outbreaks often goes to antibiotics like tetracycline (see a dermatologist). I've been on that too, and it really works once you've got an infected pimple.

But a good daily regimen I've found is AcneFree, which I picked up at Costco. It's a three step daily regimen (cleanser, toner, preventer) like Proactiv but it's less expensive and doesn't tie you into an automatic monthly purchase plan like Proactiv does.

I don't work for them, don't own stock...it simply works on my skin to greatly reduce outbreaks (and make the ones that happen a lot less severe). I think they have a website at www.acnefree.com, you can probably google them too. Works for me, hope this helps you some.

    Best to you.
Avon has some really good products for acne! It is called clear skin. They have several different types of cleansers to choose from and an astringent and spot treatment. It is reasonabley priced and the results are great! They also have porefection too. It keeps your pores clean!
Clean your skin daily with good old witch hazel on a cotton ball. It's an excellent astringent, costs very little, and resolves the greasy skin problem which is the primary cause of acne.
    PROACTIVE!!!!!!!!!!!

Which is better? Salicylic Acid or Aspirin Mask to treat acne?

Results the same? Which would be safer?Which is better? Salicylic Acid or Aspirin Mask to treat acne?
ive always used salicylic acid. i think it is one of the safest and best ways to get rid of acne.

just my opinion. hope this helps.Which is better? Salicylic Acid or Aspirin Mask to treat acne?
I would say it depends on your skin. They basically do the same thing, you just need to find out which way works better on your skin type
I dont know about those things but....

Duac cream, its works miracles on my face, for my cystic acne. I no longer get them as long as I apply the cream at least... only once or twice a week. Its prescription ..

apply moisturizer first then the cream to avoid irritation.
    Salicytlic Acid IS Aspirin...

I have never heard of this treatment before.
Actually, benxoyl peroxide has always been my go-to on this one. Proactiv Solution and Clearasil Ultra (others too..) have this as their active ingredient. Be careful though, because it can bleach clothing and bedclothes.

Has anyone ever tried using rubiefacients (like Deep Heat muscle rub) to treat acne?

I know this idea may sound crazy, but could the irritation caused by these products (e.g. Ralgex, Deep Heat etc.) be beneficial in acne? Could the irritation they produce in skin/muscle boost the immune response there and speed up the destruction of bacteria which cause acne?Has anyone ever tried using rubiefacients (like Deep Heat muscle rub) to treat acne?
    yikess....ouccch!!

These muscle rubs contain ingredients that are analgesic. The ingredients in Deep Heat are menthol, Eucalyptus oil, Methyl Silicate and Turpentine oil and. The menthol is the strong smelling ingredient to this cream but it does act as a natural anesthetic, thereby numbing your skin. The Eucalyptus oil stimulates your circulation and provides the warming properties, which gently heats up and reddens (rubefacient) your skin. The Methyl Silicate also helps blood circulation and is also a good anesthetic. Turpentine oil is known for its natural healing properties.

Acne is caused by overactive sebaceous glands which produces the sebum (oily substance) on the skin. It is better that you use a product specific for acne instead. Avoid products with alcohol as this in turns only dries the surface of the skin which will actually cause the acne to flare up even more. Washing your face gently (versus rubbing it hard) with a clean face towel and a suitable facial cleanser is a better remedy.

Ingredients like essential oils of Tea Tree, Grapefruit will be beneficial to acne/oily skin. Tea Tree is antiseptic, anti-viral and anti-fungal.Has anyone ever tried using rubiefacients (like Deep Heat muscle rub) to treat acne?
My husband battled adult acne the first two years of our marriage.

I found a product that works wonders for him. He has no more deep, painful zits. and the little ones are far and few. No rarley ever gets a zit now.

The product is called 101E Ance Getaway. It can be easly purchased on ebay. It is a chinese herbal remedy.

I thought my husband was nuts for trying it...........but it works.

What are the best, fastest ways of treating acne?

Also, once treated, is there a good way to prevent it from occurring again? What are the best, fastest ways of treating acne?
I acne problems beginning when I was 17. I had acne on my cheeks that was really embarrasing. I tried Proactiv, Aceneticin, Oxycerin, and even the Asso Gold Cleaning Bar with dismal results. I ended up contacting a dermatologist. After 2 almost all of my acne cleared up. I suggest you try finding a local dermatologist that can help. http://www.homeacnecare.comWhat are the best, fastest ways of treating acne?
homemade remedy to clear acne for a lifetime:

    Things You鈥檒l Need:

All natural facial soap, as pure as you can get it.

    Baking Soda

    Water

    Benzoyl Peroxide, any strenth

    Facial Mask, green clay type

    Clean dry towel

Wash your skin lightly with an all-natural bar soap. I use Dr. Bronners Lavender bar soap. Be careful not to scrub your skin. All you need to do is to create a nice lather all over and rinse well with clean water.

While your skin is still wet, pour about 2 Tbsp. of Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate) into your hand. Add to it just enough water to make a paste. Apply the paste all over your face and light work it around your face in circular motions for about 1 minute. Be careful not to press to hard, just use light circular motions. Rinse well with clean water.

Dry your skin by patting it lightly with a towel. Apply the Benzoyl Peroxide ONLY to the active acne spots. Allow to dry and then dab a little mud mask only on the spots. Leave on overnight.

You will gradually reduce the use of Benzoyl Peroxide as your skin clears until you do not use it at all. The Baking Soda works very quickly
Fastest way of treating is either a dermatologist because they have the best stuff or you can just be patient and use something like Biore ice wash or something. Wash your face everyday and treat your skin like a god since it is after all where people can see.
um i had bad acne before trust me this works

apply bar soap all over your face (olay bar soap works the best) now wash it of with hot water ignore the burn it will work

    every morning and night
The best tip I ever got was to use lemons.

How effective is tea tree oil in treating acne?

Does it work by preventing acne or can it be used to treat existing pimples? Does it penetrate the skin and pores (and pimples?)How effective is tea tree oil in treating acne?
Okay - you're talking to the most acne-plagued person in the universe. I've used EVERYTHING on my zits from Preparation H, to Visine, to every prescribed medication out there. The only thing that finally worked for me was Accutane - but you may not have acne severe enough to warrant such a step - and that is a personal decision. But to address your question about tea-tree oil - it did not work for me. It did penetrate, stung like hell, and actually made my zits worse. The best thing I ever did was a gentle NON-acne cleaner (even just Dove soap), Witchhazel as a toner, and a gentle moisturizer like Cetaphil - and of course try to keep your hands occupied in an activity other than zit popping or picking. So up to you - but I wouldn't recommend it. Take care and good luck! How effective is tea tree oil in treating acne?
The following products, which work very well for my husband, contain Teatree, or melaleuca Oil. If used all together, they will help combat your acne. He ( my husband) really likes the ';Zap-it Quick Stick';, it made this huge nasty pimple he had dissappear within three days.

The PC price you see would be how much it would cost for you as a preferred customer.

it is great stuff! Just click on my avatar if you want more details
Yes I think it works by preventing acne, you can use tea tree oil too.

    My other suggestions:

Water Therapy, drink lots of water and stay away from stress.

Or try this I think this is the solution to your problem.

For products.Try the excellent formula of Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. Originally formulated for dermatologists, it is now recommended whenever the mildest cleanser is required-

    I personally use it daily.

I still have pimples though I'm well over my teen years.Even with all the acne-preventing products in the market I still find myself having breakouts, either occasionally or regularly. While acne is not a serious skin condition it causes loss of confidence. After all, complexion is one of the first things people notice about me. Somehow, other people also associate a pimple-ridden face with being untidy.

What can i use to Home-Treat my acne?

I have acne real bad and i hate it!!!do u have any ideas that actually work for home-treatment??plz help???What can i use to Home-Treat my acne?
get a multi vitamin with minerals that is called nature's blend. once a day and only once do you take one. What can i use to Home-Treat my acne?
Try ortho-tricyclen. Also try a salicylic acne wash and Persagel as a spot treatment at bedtime. Use a mint mask once in awhile too or clay. Use a gentle scrub once or twice a week. Let your skin breathe on your days off too ( no makeup).
Unfortunately there is no cure for acne and i have used everything the best product I have used so far is proactiv. It costs about 25.90 per kit and they automatically send out a new kit every two months so you don't have to worry about having to keep reordering. They also have additional products and specially made make-up and foundation. there will be a whole product kit with the order. its been a great product it even helps with monthly premenstrual breakouts. Good Luck!
Well, it depends on what kind of face soap you're using. You can try Acne Free, and all those other products, but be careful if you have sensitive skin. you could burn it and leave scars. I tried every product out there, but my acne was real bad and nothing worked. But the best way to treat acne that's real bad is to visit a dermatologist. I visited one and I'm grateful that my acne is fading. With the help of topical ointment and antibiotics, it makes it easier to help with healing from the doctor.

    Best of Luck!

  • What is the best way of treating acne or severe pimples?

I have already tried 2 dermatologist but it doesn't work to me..Also the proactive solution, but still nothing happen..What is the best way of treating acne or severe pimples?
Im 27 and have had acne since I was a teenager. I have tried everything from Retin-A to Accutane to Benzoclin to ProActiv. The dermotologists are NOT always right and ProActiv is like anything else...it won't work for everyone. The simplest thing is a 'folk cure' that my great grandmother told me to do and it's the only thing that has ever worked for me. I've been acne free for the 3 months I've been doing it. I dont even wear make-up out all the time which I havent done since I was little! I wash my face, morning and night, with tea tree oil facial soap and follow up with Bragg's Organic Apple Cider Vinegar as a toner. (you can get both in any health food store) It's best to use the toner only at night for the first few times to see how your skin will react. It will sting a bit (but not uncomfortable) and your face will be a bit red but it normally subsides in a bit. If your skin adapts pretty quickly and the redness goes away quickly, use it in the morning after washing, as well. I have gotten so many compliments on my skin, it's ridiculous. The overall texture improved, pores arent so visible, not so oily....just amazing. And I never had 'good skin.' I wish I had tried this years ago because it would have saved me thousands of dollars. Sometimes the doctors and prescriptions arent always the best cure. Hope you try it and it works for you! What is the best way of treating acne or severe pimples?
See your family doctor. You may need a prescription medication to help you. Or you may have something else where acne is just a symptom (like intestinal troubles). If nothing is working for you (even Proactiv) I think it's best that you get checked out!
    Try limiting your dairy consumption.

    A 2005 Harvard study found a connection:

    ';Acne Associated with Dairy Intake鈥?br>

A new Harvard study links dairy products to adolescent acne. A group of 47,000 women from the Nurses鈥?Health Study was asked to provide information about several aspects of their diet during high school as well as any incidence of physician-diagnosed severe teenage acne.

Researchers noted a positive association with total milk and skim milk consumption, along with instant breakfast drinks, sherbet, cottage cheese, and cream cheese.

    No association was found with several other foods often thought to affect acne, including soda, french fries, chocolate candy, and pizza. The scientists postulate that hormones and bioactive ingredients found in milk may be responsible.';
If you鈥檙e looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne鈥?prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.

For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it鈥檚 advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.

If you need details E-mail me for further instructions...girlkat209@yahoo.com
I have the same problem, go to a different dermatologist and ask for oral prescription. That's the only way to go! Good luck!
I had the same problem and none of those worked either. Try 100% Tea Tree Oil. It is gentle and yet very effective on severe acne. Apply a little bit of this on the area twice a day and your pimples will disappear. Also, use Origins products. These are great for oily and acne prone skin as well.
Try rubbing alcohol or a few drops of essential oils mixed in with your daily lotion (no perfumes). Any of them will usually work, carrot seed oil or lavender.

What is a good product for treating acne?

i dont have bad acne but i would like to find a product that really works i haven't found one. neutrogena, clean and clear, clearisal, proactive do any of these work if you have any experience plz share that would be great! What is a good product for treating acne?
It all depends on what type of acne you have, but I would go to this website http://acnetreatment.com/ and fill out the survey, the dermotologist who owns the company, will customize a routine for you with what medication is right. She is a dermotologist and she will call you once see if you are really interested, talk to you about it and then you will just email her wiht your progress and she alters it for you if your routine isn't working. What is a good product for treating acne?
I use Clean %26amp; Clear products. It's the only line of facial cleanser that does not dry out my skin.
I used to have an acute case of acne when I was younger for many years; it covered my face, back, chest and posterior. I eventually healed myself without the use of drugs. I cured myself through DIET.

-This is what you should avoid/elminate:

    fried foods

    White bread/flour

starch combinations during the same meal (e.g. potatoes and pasta)

    soda/carbonated drinks

    sugar/corn syrup

    meat/dairy

    soft foods (processed foods)

    hydrogenated oils (in processed foods)

-you should increase your intake of:

fruits/vegetables, preferably organic (you should have a salad a day, at the least)

8 glasses of water a day

    whole foods

black and/or brown bread (whole grains)

    nuts

-you should have a balance, of 80% alkaline forming foods, to 20% acid forming foods. (mostly fruits and vegetables)

    -----

Basically, your eliminations are poor/sluggish; thats is why some people can get away with eating badly, but you may not. The reason changing your diet to the foods below will help is because your eating foods that are much easier to digest and elminate than those above.

I would check out Edgar Cayce; without his advice I would probably still suffer today.

He also said you can help yourself through osteopathic adjustments to your spine, he said this can create imbalances in your nervous system (if it isn't in proper adjustment) which will affect everything else. I haven't done this yet, as it is expensive; but I assume when I do, I will be able to better digest the aforementioned foods. Through DIET ALONE I have been cured for a number of years.

Don't believe the people who say it doesn't effect it, I swear to god this will help. It helped me. =) good luck!

Just so others are aware, I'm copy/pasting this to others, so they can get advice, because I have been there. i'm not selling or advertising for anyone or anything, i'm not spamming. don't think that, if you see this advice elsewhere.
I recommend Acne Treatment Gel by Mary Kay cosmetics. If you would like to receive more information on this product, go to my 360 page and click on my blast-it will route you to my website. God Bless You.
i've tried literally everything listed. proactive gets a lot of publicity but it didn't work for me and its really expensive. i got a perscription for differin and cleocin t. it's a topical treatment, but your dermatologist still has to perscribe it (it's not like a hardcore perscription, i don't know why it's not OTC). i use cleocin (it's like a light lotion) in the morning, differin at night. use oil free makeup (neutrogena makeup is all amazing). wash morning and night with clearasil or neutrogena face wash with salyctic acid (i use biore face wash, works really good you can feel it open your pores).
I use Clearskin, it is in the form of a facial scrub works great and makes your skin feel clean and refreshed. I use it each night before bed to help with removing makeup.
Proactive just makes the acne worse ( experiance) So wash your face whenever you get put of the shower with acne soap ( neutrogena) then once you dry your face put on antistringiant( like sea breeze) and then put on face lotion after the lotion put on tea tree oil it works every time for me and it clears up in a day or two
for severe acne use proactiv or clearisal

but for ur type of acne use neutrogena oil-free range for acne.

oil-free facial, oil-free mosturiser and daily scrub. these together keep acne and black heads at bay.

proactive, works well but is a little pricy. If your looking for something cheap the clearisil line is a great substitute
id go to the doctor if your able to... there are so many ways to help that, that you might as well take advantage specially if its bad acne..lots of times just washing and treating the surface isnt enough ,so give it a try :)
This depends on the severity of your face. Try using a gentle cleanser and a non-oil mosturizer. It takes about 6 weeks to see if the cleanser is working, so if it's been a week, and you see no difference, dont switch cleansers yet, wait a longer time. But if your face is getting worse, then it's time to try a different cleanser. Also use a toner a few times a week. Don't use a lot of products on your face though because it can make it worse. Hold off on the acne clearing products.
Neutragena products work best for me.
    Cut them off
I was horrible. Years ago I went to the derm he prescribed me minocycline pills.. those worked. But since then my sister told me about Clearsil daily face wipes... awesome. I saw a difference within days. They are about $4 bucks for a 32 count pouch. They really do work.
Oh dear God, if only I knew.

If your skin isn't BAD, you don't want something that'll dry your skin out. Try Tea Tree products, they're anti bacterial and natural. Use a light moisturizer anyways, just to be on the safe side.

If you've only ever had like one or two zits, then a mild cleanser or maybe even just soap will do, but if you're like me, then you need all the help you can get. Sulfur based soaps, tea tree, salicylic acid, soap, alcohol based toner, witch hazel, all work, you really need to try things out and look for yourself.

If you need a quick fix, wash your face clean, and then use a chilled alcohol based toner (just stick it in the fridge for a little bit) on some cotton, to take down the swelling. Then get a green concealer pen with some salicylic acid in it, it'll say skin correcting or something, Neutrogena makes good ones, and apply that lightly, and put a little makeup over it. Even if you don't normally wear makeup, that's the best way to hide one.

DO NOT PICK THEM. Really. If they open and start spewing puss, rinse them out with something anti bacteria, and keep them super clean or they could scar. Just keep washing your face, and do use a light moisturizer, it'll keep the Ph balance of your skin in order.

    Good luck!
OK lets be real, acne's a b**** and it's the worst thing to get over but its not impossible. The best thing out there for it right now is Acutane, but, it is not for everyone that's why it is only obtained by a Dr's prespription. Some people tend to be allergic to the medicine, for a few percentage it does not work for, but usually it does, for everyone, even though after you stop using it the acne comes back, like with every other medicine after the treatment is over. It is really harsh on your body though, for women they can't take contraceptives or have kids due to some serious problems that can occur while taking it, other people experience horrible peeling and dryness.

Apart from all this, i used to have acne, apparently not bad enough for Acutane (according to my dermatologist) but it was still bad (at least i thought it was), so i was recommended this over the counter medicine called ';Nature's Cure';. They have two medicines, one formulated for men, and another for women, and among these they have the topical creams and face washes as well as pills that work from the inside out. I personally tried the cream and face wash. Since i started using it i have yet gotten another pimple, seriously, my face is progressing miraculously, alot of the blemishes are gone, almost all. Smooth skin, it does dry it a little bit but barely, everyone's complimented on it. A few more weeks and my face will be completely clear. To help with this i also get facials done, everyonce in a while to help with the deep cleaning, which helps alot to remove stubborn clogs and blackheads and so forth.

I know not all of these over the counter medicines work for everyone, like myself that i've tried Proactive and Murad and all those things and i actually got my face worse due to them. But this one worked, see if you can find it in a neighborhood pharmacy or drugstore, or supermarket (which some of them also sell them), or online in their website.

About a diet, the main cause of acne is not your diet, eating chocolate or drinking too much soda, it's an old wife's tale, BUT a good diet will prevent excess oils in the skin which will clog pores and cause breakouts.

The main cause of acne are your body's hormones, we can't fix those with a change in diet. For me i go to the gym about 5 days a week, and excercise, this helps your metabolism break fatty acids that may affect your hormone production, as well as providing an overall well being for the body and get you nice and fit, a little blood to the old pump is sometimes the best remedy for current health problems as well as future undeveloped ones.

Stress is another factor that people a lot of the time don't consider, it does affect your acne because too much stress will trigger hormone production in the body and well you know the rest. Try to take life easily, i know sometimes it's hard but you gotta try, for my stress, excercise wipes it all out, and it usually does for a lot of people so think about it.

Well i hope this helps you and good luck with what ever you end up trying.
I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It's time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!

Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:

    1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

    2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn鈥檛 use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured鈥f we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don鈥檛 want us to know.

There is a great website: http://cure-my-acne.info/3daycure/ that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.
i got this stuff from a drugstore its called klear action is GREAT!!

The best way to rid your skin of spots is frequent exfoliation, i use this nivea one and its really good. The exfoliation not only clears the away dead skin cells which can clog pores but leaves your face really soft. Tea tree oil really works aswell. Unfortunately there is no quick fix and you need to really keep up all the cleancing etc... but a good diet of the usual fruit and veg is good for the skin aswell. Especially zinc, vitamens A and C. Drinking lots of water is good for the skin as it hydrates it. Good luck!!

How does one treat acne naturally at home. also how can it be prevented.?

Read some very useful tips and articles on this site on how to deal with acne with some home remedies to help you with itHow does one treat acne naturally at home. also how can it be prevented.?
i have seen my dermotologts for this..... NO FOODS GREASY OR NOT DO NOT CAUSE ACNE!!!!! bad acne is heriditarty, and there is not much you can do other than seeing a dermotologits and getting prescription stuff which totally cleared up mine. There is NO over the counter stuff to clear up your face if it is bad acne, If its the occasionally few, then using salicylic acid type is the best, dermotologists reccomend neutrogena oil free acne wash the orange kind in the pump. acne is strictly hormonal you can wash your face fifty times a day and it wont do anything to help, only irritate what you have more. Make sure you wash your face only twice a day and rinse it COMPLETELY for like 3 minutes under water. This is all coming from a doctor not my opinion. Dont listen to the stupid comments above. How does one treat acne naturally at home. also how can it be prevented.?
proactive is the only thing i've found that helps
Ok. I am going to tell you what worked for me. In my early to mid-20's (yes late) I started developing these cysts...some were the size of a nickel on my face. After trying accutane and other dermatological products with no help, I started using PLAIN OLD RUBBING ALCOHOL on a cotton ball everyday. In two weeks, my problems were gone. I have NEVER had a single outbreak since then. You should use the alcohol at least twice per day and then follow up with a non-comedogenic, hypo-allergenic face lotion to keep from drying out. (Neutrogena has a good one, just read the label for those two items). Acne is a bacterial problem and nothing works better than alcohol. In a few weeks, your skin will be totally clear! Good luck.
YEA, IT'S CALLED WASHING YOUR FACE...DUH!!!
Try Evening Primrose Oil. It is guaranteed to help you with your skin along with many other issues.
You can always try dabbing the blemish with Lemon Juice a few times a day.

A cheap way to get rid of blackheads and dead skin is make a paste of oatmeal and water. Apply it to your face and let it dry. Rub it off with your fingers using a lot of back and forth motion.

Drink a lot of water, and eat a balanced diet too.
Prevent: don't eat lots of chocolate or greasy foods.

Treat: Wash your face daily. (Just wait till you're a little older, zits don't only appear on your face.)

Tea tree oil treat acne scar and whiteheads?

does tea tree oil really help treat acne scars and white heads

and im going to order it from the body shop do you recommend any other tea tree oil products?Tea tree oil treat acne scar and whiteheads?
Tea tree oil to me is what alcohol was to my mothers generation. It is an absolute cure all. It will stop mosquitos and fleas and ticks from biting you. If you put a few drops in your favorite shampoo it will stop dandruff. Add some to your liquid body soap to help with dry skin. It is an awesome astringent for cleansing. It does have a pungeant smell, but when added to another product that is scented you cannot smell it when you have showered or bathed with it. I just used it for poison ivy. It worked. We use it for so many things. It even keeps lice out of kids hair when they are in school. We add it to our children's shampoo. They have never gotten lice, even though every one else in their school was getting it. I order mine from ebay a store called oils of the earth. They also have an email oilsoftheearth@msn.com Way cheaper than the herb store. I think I gave like 15 bucks for a 4oz bottle. I have had it forever because you only use a few drops. Hope this helps. Good luckTea tree oil treat acne scar and whiteheads?
I haven't used it for scars, but it does WONDERS for pimples. It's a natural anti-bacterial/anti-fungal. It stinks, but you get used to the smell. It's also good for minor cuts and burns. I use it as much as I can. Just watch the mucus membranes. Don't get it NEAR your eyes, it's very irritating.
I work with a company that manufactures and sells over 350 products with tea tree oil. They are the best products on this earth and we have a acne product line that is second to none. Let me know if you are interested.

  • How Effective Are Doxycycline, Minocycline, and Tetracycline in Treating Acne?

I'm taking 200 mg of doxycycline a day for my mild inflammatory acne, and I tried lose dose accutane before that, but it failed. Are doxycycline, minocycline, and tetracycline very effective in teating mild to severe acne? I hope this works, because I've run out of options. How Effective Are Doxycycline, Minocycline, and Tetracycline in Treating Acne?
I noticed very little change after starting tetracycline. I used it for about 3 months, then gave up.

    I would not recommend it.

All in all, it was a waste of money, stained my teeth (a common side-effect of long-term antibiotics), and made my acne harder to treat because it built up a resistance to antibiotics. From what I have heard (And semi-experienced - although I have never tried accutane), the only oral medication that really consistently works is regular to high dosage Accutane, otherwise just stick with topical stuff.

Good luck! How Effective Are Doxycycline, Minocycline, and Tetracycline in Treating Acne?
I used to take tetracycline and I gave up too. I saw very little progress and I was really NOT satisfied. My doctor has prescribed me minocycline, so I'm gunna see how this works out.

By the way, tetracycline gave me horrible heart burn...even when I drank plenty of water. Report Abuse

Go to Walmart and purchase some sulfer. It's a yellow powder. Mix it with some type of moisturizer and pat it on the acne. I promise it will work...just DON'T get this in your eyes it burns really bad!

Is this acne and how should I treat it?

I have been getting what I think is bad acne on my face recently. The acne itself is only in a few spots and is broad, raised, and pointed. They are dense and have no openings. I have been stressed lately so it may be a result. Please help.Is this acne and how should I treat it?
yes thats acne. i was in the same situation.. and i was so stressed too. i used so much products(even proactiv) that did not help me at all... so i went to my doctor and she gave me a cream that made my face worst for 6 weeks but after that my face has become so clear and with no spots. I think doctors are the only ones that can help you with your type of skin.Is this acne and how should I treat it?
Yes, i think it is acne.

To treat it, try cutting a lemon into fourths and set one of the fourths on each spot of acne.

Keep them there for 15 minutes, and then gently wash your face with warm water.

How effective is pure Jojoba oil in treating acne?

Is Jojoba oil, applied neat to skin or used as a cleanser, really effective in preventing acne? Can it be used to treat existing pimples? Any tips/advice about how to apply it, how often, time of day etc.?How effective is pure Jojoba oil in treating acne?
I'm an esthetician. You don't want to use jojoba oil to treat your acne. The only oil that will will bring any sort of calmness to the breakouts is tea-tree oil. If you're looking for a inexpensive way to clear up your skin, purchase Dial antibacterial hand soap. (the orange colored one) It has an ingredient called triclosan which will help to clear up break outs. After cleansing, dot tea-tree oil on the breakouts. Let dry. Then you HAVE TO USE A MOISTURIZER!! If you let your skin get too dry, it will begin to protect itself by holding onto any oil that it produces. Use an oil-free moisturizer at least once a day. Cetafil is a drugstore brand that works well. Hope this helps. How effective is pure Jojoba oil in treating acne?
Jojaba oil seems to work for me. I use about a small dab on any affected areas but I avoid the back and anything covered by clothing because the heat increases acne. It works by absorbing light and essentially killing bacteria directly by cooking them.

    Good Luck,

BTW nutmeg and milk drinking and mask are even better.
If you can get your hands on some jojoba extract that would be good for your skin. Oil is not healthy for your skin. also lot of the products out there may get rid of your acne, but are terrible for your skin because they have so many chemicals in them. If you have overactive pores you should a calmer face cleanser. I use France Laure. you might find it at a dermatologist office.
It might work in some people, but they would be the exception. It should make your acne worse. If it doesn't, use it.
    Oil + acne = worse.

No matter what. Because oil clogs your pores even further. Proactive works great for acne, or you can use something like neutrogena face wash that is orange and comes with a pump on top, and use that and oxy pads during the day when you feel your skin getting oily again. Other than that, go talk to a dermatoligist and find out what they recommend for your skin specifically.
Do NOT put jojoba oil on your acne! It is an oil and will block your pores making your problem way, way worse.(Who told you to do that? Don't listen to them ever again...) Here is how to help get rid of acne: You need to see a dermatologist pronto.( If you have the cash get IPL treatments at a laser clinic it cures acne in 4 to 6 treatments at 400$ a pop. it is the most fantastic invention EVER for acne and rosacia.) If you can't get that done my advice is to see a dermatologist and go to an aestetician for regular treaments, they will help you out. Good luck and stay away from that oil!

What product do you recommend for cleansing/treating acne on the face?

Clean%26amp;Clear, Neutrogena, Proactive? What do you use/what works for you? What product do you recommend for cleansing/treating acne on the face?
I received procactive for xmas and so far it's making my skin WAY worse. I use it like it says too. Neutrogena is great if your skin is very sensitive. I personally love St. Ives scrub lines. What product do you recommend for cleansing/treating acne on the face?
go to your docter and get percription medication. i have been on menocyclin, biniclyn, and differen for one month and all my zitsare gone except one!
Clean and clear...but I have not tried proactive so I can't speak for that brand.

I use clean and clear's make-up removing cleanser, continuous control acne cleanser at night followed by the deep cleaning astringent and in the morning I wash with morning burst facial cleanser followed by morning glow moisturizer.
proactive is a good one too.
I recommend Clear.now Which contains salicylic acid and sodim chlorite
I have tried all of those products and then some, including antibiotics. The product that I have found that works for me is Born to Be Mild from dermadoctor.com It's kind of pricy, but a very small amount does the trick and it's worth it to have clear skin and not having to buy something different every week or so because what I bought was making the breakouts worse. They also have a lot of other great products and tips. (no, I don't work for them, just a very satisfied customer!)

How do you treat baby acne on a 2 month old?

it is mainly on his forehead and cheeksHow do you treat baby acne on a 2 month old?
Clean the face gently, with minimal or no soap once a day at mostHow do you treat baby acne on a 2 month old?
I agree with the answer above, but you can also apply a very thin layer of Polysporin (just like neosporin, just less cases of allergic reactions) to where the little pimples are. Don;t worry- most babies get it, and it does go away!
I know, it looks horrible doesn't it? My baby had it until she was 3 months old. Don't touch it. Applying lotion does nothing for it. It will go away on it's own. If you try and pop them, this will cause scarring.
Just keep washing them with clean cotton wool and warm water. One of those things that could be milk spots or just them getting used to the 'outside world' rather than being in your sterilised environment of your tummy. It'll go by itself, just don't pick or touch it too much.
wash your baby's face with warm water two or three times a day and pat it dry. Don't use lotions, oils or other treatments. Never pinch or scrub baby acne. You may cause more irritation or an infection.
There is really nothing you can do for it, but wash with mild or no soap at all twice a day. And make sure it stays dry because wetness feeds it and causes it to get worse.

    Good Luck!!!
My baby had acne till she was about 3 months old and it left on his own you just need to always keep it clean and also with the craddle cap just when you are giving your baby a bath you can go over it with a brush but gently and in no time it will be gone.
you don't. it's the hormones in his/her body settling and also from formula/breast milk. It will clear up itself, don't worry about it.
My son has the same thing he's 3 and half months now and had it almost since he was born. It comes and goes. Sometimes it gets better almost clears up completely other times it's red and bumpy. Doctor said there is no real medicine for it. It will go away in time. After his bath I apply a very light layer of ';fast-absorbing, hypoallergenic Aloe Vera %26amp; Vitamin E Baby Oil'; the Equate brand. That helps a little. I know it's frustrating when you try everything and it keeps coming back.
Most people say to just leave it alone, but I tried some vaseline on my 2 1/2 week old, and the acne was mostly gone within a week or so!
you don't. it will clear up on its own. just wash his little face with water, apply baby lotion if needed {cetaphil is a great one--no dyes or scents to irritate him}, and let it be.
The is no treatment for baby acne, it goes away on it's own. And over washing his face could end up drying his skin out or inflamation. So just don't worry about it
Never ever ever try to clear it up!!! Babies are born with it and it will go away all by itself. Just clean it like you clean the rest of his body.

Is tea tree oil wash all natural and how effective is it in treating acne?

Also which stores is it sold in?Is tea tree oil wash all natural and how effective is it in treating acne?
The article below discusses the benefits and the drawbacks of using tea tree oil. Personally I didn't have much success but as with all acne treatments everybody has varying results depending on their skin type, their cause of acne and the type of acne they have.Is tea tree oil wash all natural and how effective is it in treating acne?
I use tea tree oil, and I have semi-breakouts, but nothing too major. It works too keep any more worse acne coming to your face, but it doesn't get rid of acne totally. Overall, it's pretty effective on keeping you ';clear';. I get mine from The Body Shop, and after this, I plan to try something new. You know, it never hurts to try something new! Maybe Tea Tree Oil isn't for you, but there are other ones that you might be interested!
I loooove tea tree oil..I use it for anything and everything..it is among only a few products from nature that is an anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. Use it on your skin and you will see a difference! I did and it made such a difference with acne. you can get get it from health food stores like Better Health, or The Vitamin Shoppe..or even online, that's where I get mine..here's the link of the best tea tree oil I have used (always get it in a dark bottle and not the clear ones because the product can go rancid if exposed to too much light)

I'm not for sure what it does for acne, but if you go to a store like Ulta or Sally's they have this Tea Tree Oil shampoo, it's amazing for your scalp. That probably did not answer you, unless of course you want an amazing scalp!!
It's sold at most beauty product stores like Ulta. However, I sincerely recommend Proactiv for acne.... Tea Tree may irritate.

    How to treat my acne.........?

I have really bad acne on my forhead, around my mouth, and on my chin. I have tried a few products; AcneFree, Clean and Clear, and just washing my face 2 times daily, but none of that has seemed to work. Is there anything that worked for you?How to treat my acne.........?
You should give tea tree oil a shot. I had mild acne for a while and even tho I washed my face every night I still had acne. So I used tea tree oil and within a week my acne was pretty much gone except for a few spots here and there, which will fade soon too.

Tea tree oil can be used for any skin type even if you have very sensitive skin. And in that case I would dilute the oil with either water or aloe vera gel, which you can get at any drug store.

There are only two downsides to tea tree oil and that is that the smell is pretty strong, and it can dry out your skin a little, which can be taken care of by using a moisturizer.

The oil can be found in any drugstore/grocery store/health store in the same isle as the finger nail polish remover for about $6. There are many different kinds but you can get whatever brand as long as it says 100% tea tree oil.

    Here is what I do.

Every night before I go to bed until the acne or acne scars are gone

I dip a q tip into the tea tree oil and dab it onto the acne or acne scars.

There is no need to rinse it off, and if you are prone to dry skin, in the morning when you wake up you might want to moisturize your skin.

If you have any more questions there are many websites about this product, or feel free to ask me.How to treat my acne.........?
I'm 28 and I still get acne but ithe best way to just get rid of it is to eat healthy, use minmal makeup if a girl, and maybe try different acne cleansers or face wash or

body scrubs. Make sure you are cleaning your body/face well in shower/bath.

Also, some foods that you eat may break you out in acne. I know seafood is very commonly known for that.

I know most shouldnt use this but I use isop. alcohol and rub til residue is gone. Then use moisturiser afterwards so your skin don't crack. I only use alcohol because most creams and products dontt work for me. Usually its gone the next day because it cleans it up and then dries it out.

Can aloe vera help treat my mildly burned skin from an acne face wash?

i was putting on lotion that restores moisture, then instead it wasn't doing anything so i applied aloe vera just today

how long do you think it will heal, if it does anything?

if not, what does treat this type of burn?

it's not my whole face btw, just on the sides of my mouth about 1 inch from my lips and around my nose on the bottom. are these just sensitive areas? my forehead is fine, cheeks are fine, etcCan aloe vera help treat my mildly burned skin from an acne face wash?
Aloe Vera may be used topically to restore skin that has become inflammed and have been proven to help those afflicated with skin problems improve their condition and promote healing of scar tissue formed by excessive swelling. Scar tissue left on the face or upper body can be improved by use of Aloe Vera gel.Can aloe vera help treat my mildly burned skin from an acne face wash?
Apparently Aloe does help burns %26amp; skin problems. The US military experimented with it to treat burns in wartime and the results were moderately positive.

The best thing may be to use a quality aftersun lotion. It should clear within a few days.

    Drink loads of liquids too.
yeah aloe vera is like magic when it comes to burns.

How do u treat acne scars?

I have been breaking out..and also i have acne scars .how do i get rid of themHow do u treat acne scars?
Try vitamin E capsules. You can get them at the99 cent store. Just takea capsule with a pin and let the natural goodness come out. If that doesn't help after a month, see a dermatogist. You can use the Vit.E as much as you want. How do u treat acne scars?
I just read somewhere about Swedish Bitters from the health food store. You soak a moistened cotton ball with the bitters and apply them to the scars and the scars should be gone after about 40 applications (doing it twice a day). You can also take the bitters internally 1tbsp. twice daily to help deal with the acne.

I did buy some and the stuff is definitely bitter but you can mix it in fruit juice to get it down easier.... I'm taking it for something else but hope it improves my skin at the same time!!
My sister was in a car accident and the whole side of her face was ruined. They stitched her up and she put vitamin E on the scars and now you can even see them unless you know they are there and look very close. IF you still have acne, pro acvtive really works!
If you are getting new acne, make sure you wash your face twice a day. This is to reduce the bacteria that causes the inflammation. If you have red scars from previous acne, it will fade over time. this blog has some more info on acne scarring and treatments: http://outlawacne.com .
I also have acne and scarring from when I was a kid. I picked up the Loreal Adult Acne programs and the one worked better than the other. The one is an everyday twice a day wash, toner and lotion .... blah results for my skin. The Intense Peel kit was MUCH better (pre-wash, Salyic Acid and stopper lotion). Using that 2-3 nights a week help tighten my skin up a bit and my scarring is less noticable but not completely gone. It does help you keep from breaking out as bad though. I think it was about $20 at Walmart when I bought it.

The other option would be microdermabrasion which takes several session and mars the outer skin surface then heals over. The only physical signs of micro therapy are some redness after a session. Many of friends who just wanted to get rid of wrinkles do that, but it works well for scarred and acne prone skin too. Check it out...

  • How to treat acne? any effective home remedy?

I read just the other day on here about cider vinegar..haven't tried it though. I personally take vitamin C when I have an outbreak, it's a fix-it for me, as well as a mineral clay mask product on the spot. I like the Zia brand (found in Fred Meyer, Bartell, or health food sections). What kind of cleaning products are you using?? I have used them all!! ProActiv, all the antibiotics from the dermatologist to Acutane...found that Philosophy's Purity is a Great product for me!

drink beer yest, I heard it works. How to treat acne? any effective home remedy?
try himalayas neem face wash it helps lot to reduce acne
you treat it first with antibacterial agent like benzoyl peroxide or topical antibiotics. then you exfoliate it using salicylic acid or glycolic acid.
lower your intake of sugars. anything with high fructose corn syrup, you want to avoid. acne is basically the eruption of toxins and pus from your body thru your skin. your body is trying to flush itself. in the body there's good and bad bacteria. the bad flourish off of sugars and produce acid. your body in action produced white blood cells to fight bacteria and filter the junk and get it out quickly. and it does that by coming thru your skin. so.. bad bacteria, fungus and viruses (just to include it) cannot survive in a body thats doesnt have high levels of acid. the opposite of acid is alkaline. eating anything high in alkaline, mostly dark leafy veggies, helps clear your skin and regulate your colon.

sorry for the long science lesson, but i used to have acne and i got tired of no products working and burning my skin. so i did some crazy scientific research and also hit up barnes and noble and loaded up on books to help detoxify. so i basically lowered my intake of red meats, eat more salads, drink plenty of water, and lowered my sugar intake and the pimples were gone. plus i was sick waaaaaay less. try it, it works well :D

Why don't doesn't anyone treat the cause of acne instead of just the symtoms?

Since acne is caused by hormonal imbalances of having too much androgen in the system, why can't doctors just give acne sufferers something to lower their levels of androgen? All the topical treatments are just treating the symptoms, not the cause. Someone please explain to me why we just can't treat the cause and cure acne. Is it cuz too many companies make money off of selling acne products?

I'm 38 and I STILL get breakouts and have super oily skin!!! Arrrrgggg!!!Why don't doesn't anyone treat the cause of acne instead of just the symtoms?

Go to your family doctor and ask him about Cleocin-T Gel. it has worked wonders for me!.

I use Duac now. Its Cleocin-T/Benzoyl Peroxide together.

Benzoyl Peroxide is over the counter. so you may want to try that first.
don't pee on your face, that will not work.

i know for me, ';acne free'; worked. its 3 steps like proactiv and costs about 18 bucks. it was really worth it, i still use it now to maintain clear skin.
that proactiv stuff REALLY works..we got it for our son and it worked almost over night.. it is only 20$ for the starter kit.

that s all you need , the starter kit.

good luck and don't use soap on your face.. only warm water and not followed by cold.. keep the pores open @ night to drain..
I don't suffer from bad acne but I do occassionally get one big pimple somewhere very obvious like the middle of my forehead lol. I don't wash my face with water. I know that sounds nasty but I've been doing this for several years now and it works! I just use Clearasil Face pads two to three times a day. No soap, no water. Make sure you clean your face and drink a half glass of water before bed also. When I cook, I also use olive oil instead of veggie oil and grease. I also eat avacados and oatmeal. Sometimes i will drink a half cup of olive oil everyday. I know it sounds gross but it works for me.

Everyone's skin is different. I drink a lot of water. If all else fails, go get Proactive!
This is gonna sound really wierd but i SWEAR it works! When you are about to go to bed get a clean catch of your urine and dip a cotton ball in it. Apply to all affected areas. Let dry and wash in the morn.Do it for 7 days. I do this about once every 5 to 6 months. It has such good acids and vitamins that it cures the acne! Just try it:) Good luck!
clinique works for me but is very expensive try it

What is a good walmart product that treats acne and blackheads?

I have a lot of pimples and blackheads. Its embarassing so I need a wal mart product that treats both of these conditions fast and well. What is a good walmart product that treats acne and blackheads?
It really depends on your skin type, i have kind of oily skin, and i use Oxy, i get it at Wal-Mart for about $2.50, and it really works. If you have dry skin, a great cleanser that my friend uses is Neutrogena, (sorry i don't know exactly what type of Neutrogena, all I know is that it comes in a white bottle with a pump to get it out of the bottle...) and she almost never has pimples or blackheads. Or if you have more in between skin, Wal-Mart has an off brand (Equate) of Noxema, which is a really minty cream you rub on your face, and it comes in a blue tub, and is like, $4.00. If those don't work, (I'm pretty sure they will), Wal-Mart has off brands of almost all facewashes, and they also have Clearasil tinted cream (it comes in a pretty small tube, and is about $3.00), which helps get rid of pimples while covering them up, and that's great too.

Sorry I wrote a book for you!

I hope this helped! Good Luck! What is a good walmart product that treats acne and blackheads?
There is this new popular cream that people have been talking about.

It was even televised on TV.

It prevents future and existing acne, diminishes scars, and lightens skin and blemishes. Fast results too! (It has been claimed that major results can be seen within a week and no later than two weeks)

Before and After photos are available at the given ebay site.

This person is providing 1-3 week trial samples (Only for ONE DOLLAR.. definitely a deal) on ebay at:

Search up ';best acne solution ever'; on ebay.

First 100 customers can get the item for $1 for one week trial and up to 3 weeks. Or you can buy the whole container for $160

It's expensive, but the product DOES work.

My sister and cousin who both have major acne have tried the product and they both give it thumbs up. I have also heard many great feedbacks about this cream.

I don't have a problem with acne, but it seems to have great results on my sister who has moderate to severe acne. Her acne swelling went away overnight.

    I hope this helps. =)

Anyone know of a method to treat severe acne?

Please don't say Proactiv because it didn't work?Anyone know of a method to treat severe acne?
There is a natural astringent sold in pharmacies and grocery stores called ';Witch Hazel'; or ';Hammelis Water';. It cleans up the oils on your face without drying it out too bad - a lot of products today dry the skin and make the problem worse. It comes in a bottle just like rubbing alcohol, and should cost less than a dollar.

Wash your face with gentle soap and water, and then wet a cotton ball with the witch hazel, and wipe down your face.

A good soap is Liquid Neutrogena, but only use a LITTLE bit, and make foam in your hands before you put it on your face.

If your skin is oily, you probably won't have to moisturize, but if you do, make sure to get something good (expect to pay for the quality).

If it is very severe, you can go to a doctor and explain your problem. It may be that there are deeper problems, such as a chemical or hormonal imbalance, and they might be able to help you figure it out.Anyone know of a method to treat severe acne?
accutane. its expensive and make your skin dry up, but its worth it because you'll never break out again. you would see improvement within the first month and depending on how severe it is, you'll have to be on it a few months. consult with a dematologist.

I got best answer for a question just like this, I said:

ZoDerm, ask for a prescription from your pediatrician. I used it faithfully, and after 1 week, it gave me GREAT results. ZoDerm comes in a cream, a gel, and a face wash, I got the face wash first, then got the cream, bcuz, it was just easier for me to remember to be put on cream b4 bed. you use it twice a day, and it works awesomely!!! ! swear by this stuff!
Accutane worked extremely well for me--my skin ';learned'; from the Accutane and is now a little drier and easier to handle. You have to be careful not to get pregnant if you are a woman--bad birth defects! This product changed my attitude towards my face--made me like my skin so much more.....good luck!
If Proactive did not work then you need to go see a dermatologist they can guide you best.
Proactive did not work for me either , so my doctor prescribed me Benzaclin. It is a topical antibiotic for your skin. It works great!
Proactive didn't work for me either. I tried arbonne international's skincare for acne and it WORKED!! their website is www.arbonne.com

    Good Luck IT WORKS!!!
No. Stay at home until you're 37!

Only kidding. I'm sure the advice given by other people will help.
One must first be made aware of what it is that causes acne in the first place, and do not take anything I say personal as their are many people have acne but are duped into thinking of other causes and making enormous profits from this problem.

First, personal hygiene wash your face often with a natural soap(meaning no chemicals added) each morning and evening before bed. Second, do keep fresh linens on your pillow and bed as your face and body secrets oils and dead skin. when a pillow is not changed on a regular basis the oils from your unwashed casing gets rubbed back into your face and shoulders causing the pours to get clogged and then backing up the oils that would otherwise (naturally) come from them.

And in washing your linens use medium hot water with a natural detergent allowing them to soak for at least half hour to degenerate trapped oils in the linens. check your phone book for listings of natural food stores in your area. call them before you go ask if they have a natural detergent.
proactiv doesn't work for me either.

try a prescription called BENZAC a/c

    best thing I ever used.
Stop drinking coffee (any kind of it). replace it with green tea or something without caffeine. coffee stops your toxic ';stuff'; to come out, it sucks watter from you so everything gets stucked in your skin and body. and drink a looooooot of watter. it helped me. :) and CHOCOLATE IS ONE OF THE CAUSES OF ACNE!!! sorry for my baaaaad english......
If you have severe acne and the over the counter drugs aren't working then you need to go to your doctor or dermatologist. I had bad acne when I was younger...very bad and nothing would work. I tried tretacyclene (spelling) and that did nothing. So the strongest thing you can get is something called Accutane. It is basically a pill that has extremely high levels of Vitamin A, and it can pretty much cure you of acne...period. Its very dangerous, the side effects are horrible. Some include extemely painful migrains that can occur at the drop at a hat, some which would cause me to fall to the ground grabbing my head in pain. Your lips are completely chapped for as long as your on it, and there is nothing to help that, no matter how much chapstick you put on. The list goes on and on, and a lot of the side effects are different for each person. On side effect is also death, so that tells you how serious this stuff it. They prescribe it to you in mg, according to you weight and then you have to get you blood tested every month, to check and monitor you liver so you dont destroy it. It is also very expensive. I went on two rounds of it, which was about a year or so. And since then about 7 years ago, I rarely ever get one pimple or zit. Nothing, maybe once in a great while, but I never have to worry about them. My face and skin is perfectly clear with no scaring at all, and I had acne bad. It was well worth the side effects, the testing and the money. So I would talk to your doctor and see what more information he can give you.
